KingCast says "Goodnight Harvey Pekar and Sugar Minott."

Wow, a quick glance at NPR today reveals a bad day for the art World. Sugar Minott was a true pioneer, a too-often unsung hero of Reggae. His Rock Steady was All Good, and I absolutely LOVE the old Dance Hall stuff. Love it. And Harvey Pekar was, well..... one funny brother with a social conscience. I'll never forget meeting people like him and people like Pere Ubu's Allen Ravenstine, Roldo Bartimole. Eric Broder, John Ettore. Anastasia Pantsios. Fred McGunagle. Pam Arvidson/Hambone...... 1988 we were all working at or in some way contributing to the Cleveland Edition, Cleveland's first real Independent newspaper, and we said and did what we wanted, we just didn't give a shit, kept it Real. Thanks to Bill Gunlocke.
Peace to all, we'll miss you Harve.

Harvey was my age now when I met him back in the Edition days. It seems like those years went by in the blink of an eye, and now he's no longer with us.

Life is too short not to say and do what you want.

RIP Harvey, and thanks for reminding all of us of that fact.
