KingCast watches as Nadal d. McEnroe, 76-75.

76 to 75....what kind of score is that, you ask? For more than two decades John McEnroe's single-surface win streak of 75 matches (indoor carpet, 1983-1985) stood unchallenged until the ultra-quick, ultra-strong Rafael Nadal took it down today in the Rome Masters, as struggled to beat Nikolay Davydenko 7-6 (3), 6-7 (8), 6-4:

Congratulations Rafa.

Related posts: I wondered if this record would fall as I attended last week's Champions Series Tour in Boston; on prior occasion I beat McEnroe myself 6-Toots, 6-Toots :)
